Matt and Maythe met in the UK in 2015. Their first date, she was late and panicked because the tube (subway) was delayed, and she was coming straight from a lecture, looking like a proper nerd (as she so jovially said) she was panicking – worried that she would make a horrible first impression. But turns out, Matt liked her enough to ask her out again the very next day! They fell for each other quickly say’s Maythe and since then, they’ve learned to celebrate big and small, weird and normal, and exciting and boring things together. Thats their promise. Beautiful right?
Maythe says –“We try not to overthink things too much, and just enjoy simple things like good food, long walks with Frank (their fur baby) and late night movies – especially if we’re watching Mulan again for the millionth time”
A few Saturday’s ago myself along with a rad team came together for an intimate pop up wedding at Cherry Beach for these two. The day was nothing short of magical. Maythe rocked a deep purple lip, and fur coat over a taupe chiffon dress and Matt wore khaki shorts, Sperry’s and a sharp navy blazer. They both showed up and promised to love each other for the rest of their days! There was no fuss, no floor plans or time line – on the to do list? GET MARRIED!
The ceremony itself was beautiful, a stained wooden arbor framed the space along with a simple aisle designed with bud vases carrying blooms to compliment Maythe’s bouquet. The love was pure and ever present. They were announced as husband and wife – and after they kissed they just hugged, they stood beneath the arbor just holding each other. They then
turned and faced their four guests and hand in hand walked the aisle together for the first time as husband and wife to Beyonce’s XO. I remember thinking.. Love, theres nothing like it. (sigh, I love my job)
